The post How infrared saunas are battling cancer appeared first on Clear Living Clinic | Colon Cleanse Toronto.
]]>If you are like most people, hearing the word sauna triggers a very particular image in our minds. An image perhaps of a small, scorching room lined with wooden benches centered around a pile of very hot rocks and filled with strangers in towels sweating profusely. Most may consider this as too invasive and perhaps unhygienic. On the contrary, sauna is a healing tradition that dates back more than 2,000 years. Immersing oneself in a high-temperature environment, despite sweaty strangers, is recognized as one of the most effective ways to cleanse the body and eliminate toxins through our skin. This detoxifying ability of saunas is just the beginning to lead a vibrant and disease-free life. Enter the evolution of sauna – the infrared sauna.
Infrared saunas, compared to traditional saunas, is a refinement of the application of heat therapy to the body. Infrared saunas allow heat to be generated in the body at the right spots with pinpoint precision. The application of infrared heat therapy can be divided into three categories: (i) near-infrared, (ii) mid-infrared and (iii) far-infrared.
As each category of infrared heat therapy promotes its own unique benefit, the application of Far Infrared Sauna is encouraged by many practitioners.
Studies on impact of infrared Sauna
While plenty of health practitioners provide anecdotal evidence on the benefits of infrared saunas, there are, in fact, a number of published studies that quantitatively validate these health benefits.
A scientific review by a Canadian researcher found four studies that confirm the use of far infrared saunas in treating patients with cardiovascular disease, five studies in the treatment of coronary risk factors, and one study in treating chronic pain.
Other published studies for infrared saunas include trimming body fat and eliminating toxic xenobiotics (foreign chemicals) from the body. A 1981 study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) found that regular use of an infrared sauna exerts a weight-loss effect on the body. This is due to the fact that infrared radiation raises core body temperature, mimicking the cardiovascular exertion brought about by aerobic exercises such as running.
There is also an abundant of emerging research demonstrating infrared sauna benefits in the treatment of musculoskeletal problems, rheumatoid arthritis, joint stiffness, muscle spasms, edema, soft tissue injury, sciatica, eczema, pelvic infection, pediatric pneumonia, and even cancer.
Infrared Sauna versus Cancer Cells
The benefits of infrared saunas are not limited to just the general well-being of the body. Infrared saunas can also be a potential tool to fight against more malignant diseases such as cancer. In a number of ongoing studies, infrared radiation therapy are being used to target malignant cancer cells which are highly susceptible to such radiation.
As explained by Dr. Irvin Sahni in a Truth About Cancer docu-series interview:
“…by exposing your body to that heat, you’re selectively killing or eradicating those less viable cells, those cancer cells, without hurting your normal cells. And so a far infrared sauna is useful because it can help you sweat, excrete toxins, and in theory eliminate cancer cells which can’t survive the heat as well as the normal cells.”
Studies published in the Journal of Cancer Science and Therapy found that after just 30 days of infrared treatment, tumor-infected mice saw reductions in their cancerous masses of up to 86% − even with low-temperature infrared exposures of as little as 77 degrees Fahrenheit (25 Celsius). In Japan, additional studies on infrared treatment found that infrared-induced, whole-body hyperthermia helped strongly inhibit the growth and spread of breast cancer cells in mice, without causing any harmful side effects.
Bottom line, regular use of infrared saunas can potentially fight or prevent the onset of certain cancerous cells within the body!
Deciding on the right Infrared Sauna Therapy in Toronto for a healthier body
Infrared saunas has the ability to promote a healthier and perhaps a longer life. Owing to the internal heating within the body and the sweat it produces, infrared saunas offer a one-two punch for powerful detoxification and cellular maintenance and regeneration. Provided that the body is continuously replenished with clean hydration and electrolytes, the use of infrared saunas enable a continual system of flushing the body of toxins while potentially preventing formation, and thwarting growth, of malignant cells.
Having a sauna at home, especially in cold climate regions, is a great tool for detoxification, relaxation, pain relief, weight loss, and even anti-aging benefits. If space is a concern, and you live in a condo building or small house in Toronto, there are clinics available around downtown, allowing you to have your sessions just a few min walk away.

]]>We have all heard and seen the countless ads for diet pills that claim to burn calories without any need for exercising. It turns out that there is a scientifically proven method that can achieve such magic. That method is the infrared sauna! The proven, and healthy solution to losing some of those extra pounds.
Increased Metabolism
Far-infrared energy deeply penetrates the skin and warms the muscles and joints. The radiation penetrates deep into the body and gets our hearts to beat faster which in turn burns calories thus raising the metabolism.
Calories Burned
If a 150-lb person usually burns around 300 calories jogging or swimming for 30 minutes, the infrared sauna promises to help get rid of 400-600 calories in one 30 minute session.
Quiet Time
So, instead of running 2-3 miles, just sit back and relax in a cozy infrared sauna and make sure to drink plenty of water too since you will sweat like marathon runner. And once you leave the sauna, enjoy the bliss which no diet pill can ever hope to provide.

]]>In Finland, saunas are regarded as places for mental relaxation and physical rejuvenation. Today, this unique Finnish culture has been exported far and wide leading to a rising trend in sauna usage. It is no surprise that modern day infrared saunas are highly regarded for their ability to burn calories, detoxify skin and clear the mind. While people who visit saunas regularly claim to experience post-sauna bliss, there are surprisingly very few studies that empirically validate such claims, until now.
This year, we are finally beginning to understand how sitting, and perhaps copiously sweating, in the sauna, benefits the body physiologically. The key, it turns out, is our body’s circulatory system. A new study published in the Journal of Human Hypertension proposes that people who regularly use saunas experience a decrease in systolic and diastolic blood pressure. These are the two components of a blood pressure reading—the systolic is first (top), which is indicative of the pressure your heart is exerting, and the diastolic is second (bottom), which is a reading of the pressure in your arteries. Lowering one or both of these numbers can be beneficial for those who have hypertension or high blood pressure.
The study claims that sitting in the heat of the sauna causes the heart to mimic a cardiovascular exercise. Blood pumps faster, sweat increases, blood vessels dilate, and the heart rate rises up to 120 beats per minute. In essence, sitting and relaxing in a sauna is equivalent to going for a run, for the heart at least. That said, people who sit around in saunas should not expect toned muscles – you need proper exercise for that.
The key takeaway of the study is that sauna usage lowers blood pressure – specifically the dialostic blood pressure, up to 30 minutes after a sauna session – suggesting that consistent sauna usage has longer lasting benefits over time. No wonder the Finns are such happy and healthy people.

]]>What is Chromotherapy:
Chromotherapy is the science of using colors to adjust body vibrations to frequencies that result in health and harmony. Each color vibrates at a specific frequency, and each vibration is connected to a different symptom or ailment.
For thousands of years healers have been using combinations of colors and lights as a form of therapy for healing. The practice has roots in Indian, Egyptian and Chinese culture. Alternative medicine practitioners from those areas cane attune each of the seven colors of the color spectrum to specific areas in the body.
Violet
Relaxes the nerves & lymphatic system. Addresses inflammation and urinary illness.
Indigo
Helps address eye inflammation, cataracts, glaucoma, and ocular fatigue
Blue & Strong Blue
Stimulates muscle & skin cells, nerves, and the circulatory system.
Lubricates Joints. Helps address infections, stress, and nervous tension.
Green & Strong Green
Acts as a relaxant.Provides anti-infections, anti-septic, and regenerative stimulation.
Yellow & Strong Yellow
Reactivates and purifies the skin. Helps with indigestion and bodily stress. Strengthens the body and acts on internal issues.
Orange
Energized and eliminates localized fat. Helps address asthma and bronchitis.
Pink
Activates and eliminates impurities from the bloodstream.

]]>For hundreds of years saunas have been used to promote health and vitality. Infrared saunas have been rapidly gaining popularity as an all-natural tool for enhancing detoxification, optimizing health, and also treating disease. Studies show that regular use of an infrared sauna can definitely improve the body’s ability to adapt to stress, eliminate toxins, and be a valuable tool in the treatment of a wide range of health conditions.
Let’s dive into what is an infrared sauna.
Compared to steam or dry-heat saunas, where a radiant heater or wood stove is used to keep the air temperature very hot (around 185°F or 85°C), infrared saunas use metallic or ceramic heat elements. These elements emit energy in the far-infrared range to heat the air up to about 140°F or 60°C. Infrared wavelengths are too long to be perceived by the eyes, but the body experiences their energy as a gentle radiant heat that can penetrate up to 1.5 inches beneath the skin.
Since infrared heat penetrates more deeply than warmed air and heats skin faster, infrared sauna users develop a more vigorous sweat at a lower temperature than they would in traditional saunas.
Many people find the temperatures of infrared saunas more comfortable and relaxing, while the high heat of conventional saunas can be quite uncomfortable.
We recently started offering infrared sauna therapy to our clients. Check our packages and pricing by clicking here.

]]>Let’s start with what is colonic and why people need one. A colonic is a procedure that cleans out your colon (large intestine) . At Clear Living Clinic | Colon Cleanse Toronto , we use an open system colonic equipment called the Angel of Water. It is Health Canada & FDA approved equipment that you are slightly reclined at a relaxing 45-degree angle.
A small disposable nozzle is attached on the inside of the seat and is inserted into the rectum. Once the nozzle is inserted, the gravity flow of water will begin. Just to give you an idea of the size of the nozzle, take a look at your smallest figure (pinky). That’s about the diameter of the nozzle. This process is the most effective and modern way to cleanse the colon.
For those of you that are more visual you can see everything coming out from a slanted mirror facing the lighted irrigation tunnel. For those of you that don’t care to see we can simple cover the mirror and allow the process just to take place.
A couple of tips:
· The longer you can hold the water the deeper the irrigation will go into the colon.
· Just relax. The tighter you hold your body the less affective the process will be
· A question of modesty? You will be covered with a fresh blanket at all times
The actual colon irrigation process is typically about 30-45 minutes however we set aside an hour for each client as some may take more time.
Many people say they do it for the following few main reasons but not limited to:
• Improves overall Digestive Function and Energy
• Decreases Constipation symptoms
• Reduces/eliminates Gas & Bloating
• Purifies Skin
• Helps to eliminate Parasites and Candida
• Aids with Weight Loss
• Helps with Bad Breath
When we want to improve general health, we consider colonics as a form of alternative therapy.
People with specific conditions, such as ulcerative colitis, diverticular disease, Crohn’s disease, severe hemorrhoids, heart disease, blood vessel disease, congestive heart failure, severe anemia, , recent colon surgery, abdominal hernia, gastrointestinal cancer, and intestinal tumors are among those who should not have a colonic.
We suggest pregnant ladies to not have a colonic as this may stimulate uterine contractions.
After colonics, some people feel little tired, and few people experience slight bloating (although most people feel flatter stomachs after the sessions) which can last for few hours. Most people can resume normal activity as usual right after their session.

]]>The post Colonic: Missing key for Candida & Parasite treatment appeared first on Clear Living Clinic | Colon Cleanse Toronto.
]]>Whether to your surprise or not, according to the World Health Organization 60% of us carry some type of parasites.
These microscopic organisms find their way into our bodies through numerous aspects of everyday life. Parasites are typically transmitted through the air, food, water, and may even be contracted to a child during birth. If action is not taken to eliminate parasites there remains a chance to affect one’s health both physically and mentally. Due to the wide variety of parasites, the symptoms associated also vary greatly.
For best results, we recommend a multi-step approach to ensure an effective treatment.
1. Colon Cleansing
In addition to a parasite cleanse, it is very beneficial to add colonics as part of your treatment process. Partaking in Colonics while on the parasite cleanse will help to free the colon toxic matter and increase the rate at which the parasites are eliminated. While doing a supplement cleanse sounds great, if your colon is backed-up there is little room for the parasites to be eliminated leaving them to only recirculate through the body. Once these parasites recirculate they have a tendency to latch onto a variety of different organs causing even more harm to the body. For best results, it is recommended to complete a full series of 10-12 sessions. The first 4 sessions should be completed in a two-week period continuing with weekly sessions until your symptoms have cleared.
2. Diet
While completing a parasite cleanse it is extremely crucial to keep a healthy diet just as when doing any other type of cleansing or detox. Your diet should consist of foods as close to their natural state as possible. Be sure to avoid any refined sugars and processed goods. Include these anti-parasitic foods for best results: onion, garlic, raw unsalted pumpkin seeds, raw beets, carrots, figs, papaya seeds, pomegranates and cranberry juice.
3. Herbal Supplements
Black walnut, wormwood and cloves are of the most powerful anti-parasitic herbs traditionally used to kill and eliminate parasite infections. Combining these sources with other anti-parasitic herbs helps to increase the ability to eliminate a variety of parasite types in the body. A herbal supplement cleanses should be performed for a minimum of 30 days as parasites are most active during a full moon. Some may need to continue with the cleanse for 2-3 months or longer depending on the severity of one’s condition.
These herbs do not interact with other medications and are safe to use while breastfeeding. There are no major side effects, although a “healing crisis” effect is not uncommon. A healing crisis can be experienced during any type of cleanse but is especially common during parasite cleansing. This is a result of the herbs working to remove the toxic parasites from body organs and tissues. Popular symptoms include nausea, diarrhoea, headaches and abdominal cramping. Typically the crisis only lasts 3-7 days. To help reduce your chance of experiencing a healing crisis be sure to increase your water intake and reduce your supplement dosage as needed.
Candida is a fungus, which is a form of yeast, and a very small amount of it lives in your mouth and intestines. Its main job is to aid in digestion and nutrient absorption. Yeasts are parasitic organisms that deprive the body of nutrients. They also eliminate toxic waste into the body and been found to produce over 70 known toxins. When Candida grows from its yeast form into a fungal form, it creates waste products known as ‘mycotoxins’. Among the mycotoxins produced is ‘acetaldehyde’, a poison that is converted by the liver into alcohol. As alcohol builds up in the system, symptoms associated with alcohol intoxication develop. This is why one of the most common symptoms of Candida is ‘brain fog’.
In its fungal form, Candida grows long roots called ‘rhizoids’ that puncture the intestinal lining, leading to Leaky Gut Syndrome. This means that the digestive tract has holes in it, allowing Candida to pass through into the bloodstream. When undigested food particles leak through these holes and enter the bloodstream, the body views them as foreign invaders. This can result in food allergies or sensitivities, and autoimmune diseases. As mycotoxins become abundant in the body, more serious and chronic conditions can develop. Toxins tend to settle in the organs and tissues of greatest weakness. As everyone has a different area of genetic or acquired weakness, each individual can manifest a different disorder. This explains why Candida symptoms can be so wide-ranging.
The healthy bacteria in your gut typically keep your candida levels in check. However, several factors can cause the candida population to get out of hand.
For best results, we recommend a multi-step approach to ensure an effective treatment along with Anti-Candida Diet.
The majority of a Candida yeast overgrowth is within the digestive system especially around the ileocecal valve connecting the small intestine to the large and within the transverse colon. When you destroy a yeast cell with a product or substance, the internal yeast fluids being toxic to the body, are released into the digestive chamber in fairly large amounts and are immediately absorbed into the bloodstream. If your program is effective, there will be thousands upon thousands of yeast cells die very quickly every day and will create the “Hexheimer Dieoff Reaction.” This is where most yeast poisons are created faster than the immune system or eliminative channels can remove from the blood, and therefore you may feel some temporary discomforts such as a headache, fatigue, muscle aches, joint or chest pains, sinus, lung, throat inflammation and mucus, constipation, gas, etc. These symptoms can all be greatly alleviated by assisting the body in removing the dead candida yeast cells and their toxic by-products. By far the very best method of accomplishing this is through colonic irrigation. Since the majority of the candida is around the ileocecal valve in the colon, it only makes sense to flush them out of this area and out of the body before they are absorbed in the bloodstream.
This phenomenon, known as the Herxheimer reaction, can lead to temporarily unpleasant symptoms which have all the characteristics of a reaction to a toxic substance. This is, in fact, a good sign since it means large numbers of the candida yeast cells are being killed by the supplements, but unfortunately, they are releasing their toxins into the bloodstream. Symptoms include many of those you have come to associate with bad days with the candida infection, such as itching, headaches, nausea, muscular aches and flu-like symptoms. By flushing out the colon through colon hydrotherapy, you drastically cut down the effects of the die-off symptoms. The die-off toxins (plus the dead candida cells) are being flushed out of the system before they are absorbed into the bloodstream.

]]>There are two types of fibre and both are equally as crucial for our health. These types of fibre provide the body with different benefits, which is why adding a variety of fibrous foods to your diet is key to ensure you are receiving the benefits of each.
Insoluble fibre helps to keep you regular by adding bulk to stool accelerating the transit time of food. Sources include wheat bran, whole grains and some vegetables and fruit.
Soluble fibre helps to lower cholesterol and glucose levels in the blood. Sources include vegetables such as carrots, eggplant, and legumes and fruit like citrus fruit and apples. Oat bran, barley and legumes are additional sources.
There is no standard amount of fibre that is suitable for everyone. The reasoning behind why calorie intake varies person to person applies just the same for fibre consumption. On average adults should consume between 25-35 grams of fibre a day. To determine your personal recommended amount please refer below:
Age group | Recommended amount per day |
---|---|
Children 1-3 years old | 19 grams |
Children 4-8 years old | 25 grams |
Boys 9-13 years old | 31 grams |
Boys 14-18 years old | 38 grams |
Girls 9-13 years old | 26 grams |
Girls 14-18 years old | 26 grams |
Men 19-50 years old | 38 grams |
Men 51 and over | 30 grams |
Women 19-50 years old | 25 grams |
Women 51 and over | 21 grams |
Pregnant women | 28 grams |
Breastfeeding women | 29 grams |
Yes. An excess amount of fibre can have the opposite desired effect. Too much fibre can actually cause someone to experience constipation, especially if not adequately hydrated. Most commonly symptoms experience with excess fibre include:
To avoid these negative side effects it is important to increase fibre intake gradually over a period of several weeks. As fibre intake is increased water intake should be increased at the same rate. To keep hydrated individuals should be consuming between 8-12 glasses of water per day.

]]>Many people are sensitive to some foods and unfortunately they are probably the most enjoyable. The most common food allergies are associated with dairy, soy, eggs, gluten, nuts, corn, citrus fruit, yeast and vegetables dark in colour. There are multiple ways to determine what foods are irritating to your body. Evidence proves that Bio Meridian sensitivity testing and elimination diets are among the top effective methods. When we are aware of what foods are irritating to your system it is simple to stay clear of these ingredients.
You may have heard that people have a tendency to have high stomach acid. Although this can be true for some, a majority of the population actually has low stomach acid. Contrary to the popular misconception, high stomach acid is necessary to break down meals effectively as well as to aid in absorbing vital vitamins and minerals. When food is not digested properly, it becomes fermented rather than digested once it reaches into the intestines. This is due to the improper closing of the vale separating the esophagus and stomach, in combination with the heightened pressure in the digestive tract. This gas created is responsible for the bloating effect.
It is not a secret that the purpose of digestive enzymes is to break down foods into smaller pieces to aid in the absorption process. What some people may be unaware of is that our bodies naturally produce these enzymes. However, if enzyme production is below the adequate level, proper digestion in unable to occur resulting in fermentation. Again, this fermentation will lead to unwanted gas and bloating.
The word infection is often associated with flu like symptoms, however in this case it is much different than that. Gastrointestinal infections are often chronic yet go undiagnosed as many people are unaware of the associated symptoms. These infections are caused by a variety of factors including low levels of good gut bacteria, overgrowth of bad bacteria and ingesting foreign invaders referred to as parasites. Parasites can be found both in the outside environment and numerous foods comprising the North American diet. Once ingested, parasites latch onto the upper walls of the small intestine resulting in chronic bloating of the abdominal region.

]]>Tofu is made from soy, and the majority of the time soy is bad for you for many reasons. Numerous scientific studies link soy to digestive troubles, malnutrition, thyroid dysfunction, cognitive decline, reproductive disorders, as well as heart disease and cancer.
Tofu is often called bean curd since it’s made by curdling soy milk (from soybeans) and then pressing the resulting curds into soft, white blocks. The process of making tofu is relatively similar to the way that cheese is made from milk. Tofu nutrition is impressive, and that’s why many people assume it’s such a great health food.
In 1994, the first genetically modified soybean was introduced to the U.S. market by Monsanto. While food prices continue to rise around the world, the availability of non-GMO soybeans is decreasing, which is leading more Asian and U.S. food manufacturers in Asia to use genetically modified soybeans to make soy foods like tofu. Today, at least 90 percent all soy grown in the United States is genetically modified.
Tofu contains phytoestrogens, these compounds have an estrogen-like effect on the body so they block normal estrogen production and have been linked to breast cancer.
Tofu is made from soy, and soy contains goitrogenic compounds, specifically the soy isoflavone genistein. These goitrogens are thyroid hormone blockers that can interfere with thyroid hormone production and specifically cause hypothyroidism.
Soy contains a B12 analogs, which means that tofu contains compounds that resemble vitamin B12. However, these B12 analogs cannot be used by your body the way it would use real B12. This is why soy foods like tofu can actually contribute to vitamin B12 deficiency, especially among people who avoid animal protein like vegetarians and vegans.
Unfermented soy products like tofu contain strong enzyme inhibitors, which block the action of the pancreatic enzyme trypsin along with other proteopytic enzymes needed for protein digestion. This not only disrupts a healthy digestive process, but can also causes problems with the pancreas.
